The Kickstarter for the Sci-Fi bus to match the garage set is now live. Follow it here.
I am really happy with how the model turned out. I was able to get some good test prints. I even painted this one up to try to get some fun images. My painting skills still need a lot of work, but I am pretty happy with it.
I decided to go with the Pay what you want model for the Kickstarter which means that backers can pledge as little as $1 to receive the file. I hope that by making it inexpensive that I can reach more customers and build up a customer base for future projects. This is a strategy that I have seen other creators use and I think it is good for both the creator and the customers. The customers get a cheaper product and the creator hopefully gets recurring customers on future projects. I hope that I can provide a good experience and product for my customer so they keep coming back for more. I included the old garage set as an add on priced at $20. This is slightly higher than the $15 charged on the first kickstarter but I think that is appropriate. I dont want to sell those files for less than my first backers paid for it. I want to continue that model so that the kickstarters are always the lowest available price on any of my creations.
So far the kickstarter is going really well. I am confident that we will fund and I am excited to have new backers. I hope I can continue to create models that people find fun and interesting.
