Into the Trenches: Lions Led by Lambs
Together with Scott Soule, I am working on a rules-light tabletop RPG where players take on the roles of soldiers experiencing the brutal reality of World War I—shifting between dreams of home, honor, and hope and the nightmares of battle, loss, and fear. This project is part of Drive Thru RPG’s PocketQuest Game Jam 2025
You are an infantryman in the British Expeditionary Force shipped off to foreign lands to fight in The Great War. The War to End All Wars. You have joined the largest volunteer force in British history. You’ve come to serve King and Country, inspired by stories of heroism and glory, or maybe just to get a decent paycheck and find a little adventure. Whatever your reason for coming, what you will find on the front will be much less grand than you anticipated. If you are one of the lucky few, you will live long enough to feel the weight of what you have survived.
