Well if you made it to my blog you are probably interested in some really cool things. I hope that I can entertain you with my random projects.
Originally this blog was going to be specifically for Swords for Hire, my board game in development. I needed a place where fans could follow its development and get updates on its progress. That will probably still be the main focus of my content here, but I realized I had other projects I wanted to share too.
This blog is the result of many years of different hobbies and projects. My wife always makes fun of me, saying I have more hobbies than I could ever possibly have time for. I love DIY/Maker stuff like 3D printing, electronics and metalwork. I also love board games, Wargames, RPGs, Combat Robots, FPV Drones, Backpacking and other outdoor activities.
Most of these things have nothing to do with each other. They are distinct hobbies, but I have found really cool things can happen when two separate interests meet. My Wargame Terrain designs came as a combination of my 3D design/3D printing interests and my wargaming hobby. I hope that as people see these random projects I share that they can be inspired to find their own unique combinations.
Over the years I have done a lot of cool things with my hobbies. Things that I am proud of. And I have learned a lot. Some of the projects I have done had clear tutorials and instructions online, others have not. Figuring out how to sand cast from 3D printed molds took a lot of leg work on my end. I want to share the knowledge that I have gained through trial and error. I also want to share what I am working on and hopefully inspire other creators.
I am not kidding when I say I believe in the virtue of creation. I really think that when someone creates something new, no matter what it is, it adds value to the world. Most of my projects are extremely frivolous, but I am ok with that. Even frivolous things like board games or fighting robots, if they bring people joy they make a positive impact on the world.
The other purpose of this blog is for me to work on my writing skills. I think the ability to express yourself in writing is important and it is something I want to develop. Even if no one reads these articles I know that by writing them I can develop my skills. That said I plan to create interesting content that will keep you all engaged.
I hope that my posts here can inspire you or at the very least entertain you. Feel free to comment or reach out. I like talking shop and discussing my interests with like minded people. I hope that together we can build a community we can be proud of.
